AKINETOPSIA
BRAZIL has always been characterized by giving us bands within DEATH METAL and BRUTAL DEATH METAL, in this case it is a NEW STANDARD ELITE band, I bet on a group that manages to stand out within the scene, by marking the classic, riffs from the USA era DEATH METAL AND BRUTAL DEATH METAL, with the characteristics of Brazil and the skill of today, that does have a sound more from the scene in the UNITED STATES of the 1990s, a cover like the one made by Marcio Blasphemator, the new work by art is called "COLLAPSE OF CONTINUUM", prepared for the new group that will give much to talk about in the world.
BRASIL siempre se ha caracterizado por darnos bandas dentro del DEATH METAL y BRUTAL DEATH METAL, en este caso es una banda NEW STANDARD ELITE, aposto por un grupo que logra destacarse dentro de la escena, al marcar lo clásico, riffs de la época de USA DEATH METAL Y BRUTAL DEATH METAL, con las características de Brasil y la destreza de hoy en día, eso sí tiene un sonido más de la escena de ESTADOS UNIDOS década de los 1990, una portada como la realizada por Marcio Blasphemator, la nueva obra de arte lleva el nombre de “COLLAPSE OF CONTINUUM”, preparados para la nueva agrupación que dará mucho de qué hablar en el mundo.
This is Ricardo Bedoya, from SCUMZINE MAG magazine. How are things going in the band? How was the band formed? And why the name AKINETOPSIA?
Hey Ricardo! A great pleasure to talk with you!
Well, things are going great, in time!
We formed the band in 2021, at the height of the pandemic in Brazil. It was a simple but very cohesive process!
The name alludes to the disease Akinetopsia,where the person can't pick up movements,making social interaction impossible,and since the lyrics go along with the theme,the name was very appropriate!
Let's start the interview talking about the new CD “COLLAPSE OF CONTINUUM”, what do you think about the final result?
We think the result is really close to what we desired. The album came out very brutal and consistent and it’s a great way to present the band to the world. We’re very happy with it!
How was the recording and mixing process in the studios? And how long have you been writing and recording the album?
The entire album was written during the pandemic. When things started to return to normal, we rehearsed to get everything ready for the studio.
The recording and mixing process took precisely 1 month. It was a very smooth process, since we arrived very prepared for the recording and already had in mind what we wanted for the final mix.
How is the musical composition?
We write a lot of music all the time! We present the ideas in the group and in rehearsals we polish everything. It's a very organic and 100% democratic process.
What does the cover art of “COLLAPSE OF CONTINUUM” mean? And how was the creation process with MARCIO BLASPHEMETOR?
Complete confusion, entropy and mess. The art there reflects the message of the lyrics. Márcio got the concept right.
Tell us about the two videos “TAINTED SOIL” & “SWIRLING VORTEX OF ENTROPY”
What is the meaning of the title? And what is the theme of the CD?
The song titles are reflections of the lyrics themselves.
For this album, we escaped from the standard Death Metal concept (Satanism, Gore, etc) and focused on very intimate lyrics and, in a way, resignation, depression and other mental illnesses. Death is approached in a different way, so to speak lol.
How are things going in distribution with the NEW STANDARD ELITE label? And how do you get to the ranks of NEW STANDARD ELITE?
It is going very well! Dan and NsE have been great partners, giving the band all the support! We can only thank them for their trust and belief in our work!
The contact was made directly with Dan from the Promo released in the beginning of 2022. We were in the middle of mixing when we closed the deal. He participated in some things, including giving very welcome suggestions for the mix.
How is an AKINETOPSIA concert?
We performed the songs exactly as on the album, with the same energy and intensity. The public has accepted it very well!
How is the scene in Brazil? And what do you know about Colombia?
The scene in Brazil has always been full of great bands, both in the main pantheon and the more underground ones. Death Metal lives here!
Well,there are several excellent bands coming from Colombia. I can mention Dissektor, Innebrians, Internal Suffering, Sanguinary Verdict...
How do you perceive the world scene of BRUTAL DEATH METAL?
As strong, vivid, and brutal as possible.
Fashions come and go, but Brutal Death Metal has been around for 30 years, and will continue. BDM will thrive!
Future plans (video / tours and others) and final comment
At the moment, to spread Collapse of Continuum as much as possible around the world. We have some dates in mind for 2023 and 2024, and then think about a European tour and later on, a new album.

¡Bueno, las cosas van muy bien, con el tiempo!
Formamos la banda en 2021, en el punto álgido de la pandemia en Brasil. ¡Fue un proceso simple pero muy cohesivo!
El nombre alude a la enfermedad Akinetopsia, donde la persona no puede captar los movimientos, imposibilitando la interacción social, y como la letra va con el tema, ¡el nombre era muy apropiado!
Empecemos la entrevista hablando del nuevo CD “COLLAPSE OF CONTINUUM”, ¿Qué opinas del resultado final?
Creemos que el resultado está muy cerca de lo que deseábamos. El álbum salió muy brutal y consistente y es una gran manera de presentar la banda al mundo. ¡Estamos muy contentos con eso!
¿Cómo es la composición musical?
¡Escribimos mucha música todo el tiempo! Presentamos las ideas en el grupo y en los ensayos lo pulimos todo. Es un proceso muy orgánico y 100% democrático.
¿Qué significa la portada de “COLLAPSE OF CONTINUUM”? ¿Y cómo fue el proceso de creación con MARCIO BLASPHEMETOR?
Completa confusión, entropía y desorden. El arte allí refleja el mensaje de la letra. Márcio entendió bien el concepto.
Cuéntanos sobre los dos videos "SUELO CONTAMINADO" y "VORTEX DE ENTROPIA REMOLINO"
¿Cuál es el significado del título? ¿Y cuál es el tema del CD?
Los títulos de las canciones son reflejos de las propias letras.
Para este álbum, escapamos del concepto estándar de Death Metal (satanismo, Gore, etc.) y nos enfocamos en letras muy íntimas y, en cierto modo, resignación, depresión y otras enfermedades mentales. La muerte se aborda de una manera diferente, por así decirlo jajaja.
¿Cómo van las cosas en distribución con el sello NEW STANDARD ELITE? ¿Y cómo se llega a las filas de NEW STANDARD ELITE?
¡Va muy bien! ¡Dan y NsE han sido grandes socios, dándole a la banda todo el apoyo! ¡Solo podemos agradecerles su confianza y creencia en nuestro trabajo!
El contacto se hizo directamente con Dan desde la promoción lanzada a principios de 2022. Estábamos en medio de la mezcla cuando cerramos el trato. Participó en algunas cosas, incluso dando sugerencias muy bienvenidas para la mezcla.
¿Cómo es un concierto de AKINETOPSIA?
Interpretamos las canciones exactamente como en el álbum, con la misma energía e intensidad. ¡El público lo ha aceptado muy bien!
¿Cómo es la escena en Brasil? Y ¿tú qué sabes de Colombia?
La escena en Brasil siempre ha estado llena de grandes bandas, tanto en el panteón principal como en las más underground. ¡Aquí vive el Death Metal!
Bueno, hay varias bandas excelentes que vienen de Colombia. Puedo mencionar a Dissektor, Innebrians, Internal Suffering, Sanguinary Verdict...
¿Cómo percibes la escena mundial de BRUTAL DEATH METAL?
Tan fuerte, vívido y brutal como sea posible.
Las modas van y vienen, pero el Brutal Death Metal ha existido durante 30 años y continuará. ¡BDM prosperará!
Planes futuros (video/tours y otros) y comentario final
Por el momento, difundir Collapse of Continuum tanto como sea posible en todo el mundo. Tenemos algunas fechas en mente para 2023 y 2024, y luego pensar en una gira europea y más adelante, un nuevo álbum.
