1 Let's start the interview by talking about the new CD “DEAD AND DEMENTED”, what do you think about the final result?
We wanted to create something raw and sloppy and we feel like achieved that result. We're still trying to find our sound and will probably aim to mix up the style and production in the future.
2 How was the recording and mixing process with SAM BYRNE in the SIDETRACK AUDIO studios and mixed with Adrian Cappelletti? What was the reason for working with them? And how long did it take to write and record the album?
Sam is one of our long time friends, so when he started his home studio, Sidetrack Audio, we were keen to record in a relaxed environment. Since this was our first full length we wanted time to experiment with the process rather than be pressured by deadlines. Adrian (Inurn Productions) has mixed everything we've done so far, he was the right man for the job. He understands what we want as a band and he's done a great job with our sound so far.
The writing process for the album has taken almost 10 years. We have taken a long time to improve our performance, writing and composition and we finally feel we're at a place to start releasing music.
3 What does the cover of “DEAD AND DEMENTED” mean? What is your opinion about cover art? And how was the creation process with Cam Smith?
The artwork was created by our drummer Cam Smith, who has done all of the artwork for the band. We wanted the cover art to be vague while encompassing the overall themes, such as death, decay and horror, without being too complex or oversaturated with imagery.
4 What is the theme of the CD? And the meaning of the title?
The themes in the album revolve around dying, being dead and decomposing. We chose the title Dead and Demented because we wanted something that stands out without being overly complex, similar to the artwork.
5 Tell us a little about the response of the fans and the extreme press about the song of the promo “NECROMORPHOSIS”? And of the demo?
The response to the promo track has been better than we could have hoped for, we are always surprised to hear that people enjoy the shit we create. As a band we try to please ourselves first, so it's very cool to hear that people like our style.
6 How did you get to the ranks of NEW STANDARD ELITE? And why work with this record label?
We have wanted to work with New Standard Elite since the early days. The other bands on their roster have been a huge inspiration to us, especially Seminal Embalmment, who are also from Adelaide. NSE helped give us context with what we're trying to create.
7 Where did the band name PUTRESCENT SEEPAGE come from? What is the meaning? And why the title for the album?
We went through many different band names trying to find one that would hint at the sound we were going for. Much like the artwork/album title, we just wanted something sick without being too specific, or limiting what we could write about.
8 What is a concert like, PUTRESCENT SEEPAGE?
It's like four dopes trying to play as fast and heavy as possible while still giving you something to headbang to.
9 Which artists do I invite in this musical work of “DEAD AND DEMENTED”?
We feel like we have started to establish our own sound, but we have been heavily influenced by bands like Cryptopsy, Defeated Sanity, Guttural Secrete, Excoriation and Wormed, to name a few.
10 Tell us about the Australia and Adelaide scene?
Adelaide doesn't have a huge brutal blasting scene so we often get more exposure playing shows interstate. There are a lot of sick bands across the country, and we're always keen to play gigs with like minded musicians. Some of the best gigs we've played have been with the mighty Disentomb, Odiousembowel and Seminal Embalmment.

Queríamos crear algo crudo y descuidado y sentimos que logramos ese resultado. Todavía estamos tratando de encontrar nuestro sonido y probablemente intentaremos mezclar el estilo y la producción en el futuro.
2 ¿Cómo fue el proceso de grabación y mezcla con SAM BYRNE en los estudios SIDETRACK AUDIO y la mezcla con Adrian Cappelletti? ¿Cuál fue la razón para trabajar con ellos? ¿Y cuánto tiempo llevó escribir y grabar el álbum?
Sam es uno de nuestros amigos desde hace mucho tiempo, así que cuando comenzó su estudio en casa, Sidetrack Audio, estábamos ansiosos por grabar en un ambiente relajado. Dado que esta fue nuestra primera longitud completa, queríamos tiempo para experimentar con el proceso en lugar de ser presionados por los plazos. La obra de arte fue creada por nuestro baterista Cam Smith, quien hizo todas las obras de arte para la banda. Queríamos que la portada fuera vaga y abarcara los temas generales, como la muerte, la decadencia y el horror, sin ser demasiado compleja o saturada de imágenes.

Los temas en el álbum giran en torno a morir, estar muerto y descomponerse. Elegimos el título Dead and Demented porque queríamos algo que se destaque sin ser demasiado complejo, similar a la obra de arte.
5 ¿Cuéntanos un poco sobre la respuesta de los fanáticos y la extrema prensa sobre la canción de la promoción "NECROMORPHOSIS"? Y el la demo?
La respuesta a la pista promocional ha sido mejor de lo que podríamos haber esperado, siempre nos sorprende escuchar que la gente disfruta de la mierda que creamos. Como banda tratamos de complacernos a nosotros mismos primero, así que es genial escuchar que a la gente le gusta nuestro estilo.
6 ¿Cómo llegaste a las filas de NEW STANDARD ELITE? ¿Y por qué trabajar con este sello discográfico?
Hemos querido trabajar con New Standard Elite desde los primeros días. Las otras bandas en su lista han sido una gran inspiración para nosotros, especialmente Seminal Embalmment, que también son de Adelaide. NSE ayudó a darnos contexto con lo que estamos tratando de crear.

Es como cuatro tontos tratando de jugar lo más rápido y pesado posible sin dejar de darte algo para golpear la cabeza.

Sentimos que hemos comenzado a establecer nuestro propio sonido, pero hemos sido fuertemente influenciados por bandas como Cryptopsy, Defeated Sanity, Guttural Secrete, Excoriation y Wormed, por nombrar algunos.
10 ¿Cuéntanos sobre la escena de Australia y Adelaida?
