The BRUTAL MIND label, manages to take an impressive jewel within history, I am talking about DISAVOWED, a band that marked the world scene with the first full-length album "PERCEPTIVE DECEPTION" that put Brutal Death Metal on the world map, It is an album that raised the level of the genre, I continue with the work "STAGNATED EXISTENCE", 10 songs that continue with the level of the NEUROTIC RECORDS genre, after 13 years one of the best Metal bands returns with a work under the INDONES label , which manages to be one of the best labels of the genre, “REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN” that came out July 31, 2020, which shows the intact dedication of working on guitar riffs, with a very technical bass, the drums that develop devastating riffs in their execution, plus an impressive change in cover art, the band returns that transformed BRUTAL DEATH METAL into something technical and careful in their musical composition process.
Here Ricardo Bedoya from SCUMZINE MAGAZINE WEB, how is everything going in the band?
Heee Ricardo! Robbert here from Disavowed! We are fine in the band. Very excited we finally released a new album. It is a real bummer we cannot play live to support our album!
1 I think it is good to start talking about the new album “REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN”, what do you think about the final result? And what is the history of the name of this production "REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN"?
We are all very happy with the end result of this album.
“Revocation of the Fallen” is about the process of helping the ones that are “left behind” in the state the world is in right now.
2 How was the recording process ?, production and mixing of the album? And the process of writing the songs?
The recording process was very long. We recorded the drums a couple of years ago at the Kohlekeller studio and it took a long time for the rest to finish the recordings. Everything had to be perfect. We then took all the material to Kohlekeller studio to mix and master it. We tried to give the production a 90’s feel. All drums is acoustic, except for the kickdrums. We used an old digitech effectprocessor, which gives us our signature guitarsound. We also made sure the bassguitar is audible.
3 What is your opinion of “REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN” being available in all formats?
That is great! It is available on CD, MC, Vinyl and all kinds of streaming services.
4 Tell us about the cover art of "REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN", how was the process of creating this cover art?
We worked with artist Jorg de Vos to create the artwork of the album. It is handmade with all kinds of materials, without the use of Photoshop. The artwork was then digitized in a professional fotostudio.
5 What are the differences between the first “PERCEPTIVE DECEPTION” and “STAGNATED EXISTENCE”? Relationship with lyrics and music?
The new album is an evolution on previous albums. The new lyrics combine concepts of the previous albums with a new sense of purpose. I made different links in the new lyrics to older ones.
6 How was the distribution of “PERCEPTIVE DECEPTION” and “STAGNATED EXISTENCE”?
Perceptive Deception was distributed by Unique Leader records. They really put us on the map. We are still very grateful of this. We had the opportunity to tour with our hero’s Deeds of Flesh and Disgorge.
Stagnated Existence was released by Neurotic Records. We are not too happy about that releasewise, but they got us on a very nice tour with Cannibal Corpse.
7 Who are the main composers in DISAVOWED?
Gerben wrote 8 and Daniel 2 of the new songs. Nils writes his own bassparts and I write my own vocalpatterns.
8 Why did you decide to work with various record labels for this new DISAVOWED material?
We signed a very good deal with Brutal Mind. In these times of Covid, it is very hard to distribute from one point in the world, so Deni from Brutal Mind distibuted the album through various channels in the world, like New Standard Elite in the USA.
10 What is a DISAVOWED concert like?
A Disavowed concert is a tight live performed mayhem, in which we make as much contact with the crowd as possible. I really like stagediving and singing at the same time!
11 How do you observe the Brutal Death Metal scene in the Netherlands? And what do you know about the scene in Colombia and Latin America? And what do you think of the Brutal Death Metal of the world and today?
The deathmetal scene in the Netherlands was very much dead a couple of years ago, but with bands like Severe Torture, Prostitute Disfigurement releasing new albums and new bands like Spectrum of Delusion, we are getting back! Don’t forget my other band Arsebreed! We just released a new album as well on Brutal Mind, called “Butoh”!
I know a couple of bands in Colombia and I am very much in contact with Sebastián Guarín from Bacteremia and Decarabion. I actually mixted Deccarabion’s new album and did gueatvocals! Sebastián is trying to get Disavowed over to Colombia. We have to wait until Covid is resolved!
12 Plans for a video of the new job
We did a couple of lyric videos, but it is hard to make a videoclip in these times of Covid, as our drummer Septimiu is not able to fly to Holland right now. He lives in Romania.

El sello BRUTAL MIND, logra tomar una joya impresionante dentro de la historia, hablo de DISAVOWED, una banda que marco la escena a nivel mundial con el primer trabajo de larga duración “PERCEPTIVE DECEPTION” que puso en el mapa mundial el Brutal Death Metal, es un álbum que elevo el nivel del género, continuo con el trabajo “STAGNATED EXISTENCE”, 10 temas que continua con el nivel del genero NEUROTIC RECORDS, después de 13 años regresa una de las mejores bandas del Metal con un trabajo bajo el sello INDONES, que logra ser uno de los mejores sellos del género, “REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN” que salió Julio 31 del 2020, que muestra la dedicación intacta de trabajar riffs de guitarra, con un bajo muy técnico, la batería que desarrolla riffs demoledores en su ejecución, además un cambio en el cover art impresionante, regresa la banda que transformo el BRUTAL DEATH METAL en algo técnico y cuidadoso en su proceso de composición musical.

¡Oye Ricardo! ¡Robbert aquí de Disavowed! Estamos bien en la banda. Muy emocionados, finalmente lanzamos un nuevo álbum. ¡Es un verdadero fastidio que no podamos tocar en vivo para apoyar nuestro álbum!
1 Creo que es bueno empezar a hablar del nuevo disco “REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN”, ¿qué os parece el resultado final? ¿Y cuál es la historia del nombre de esta producción "REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN"?
Estamos todos muy contentos con el resultado final de este álbum.
"REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN” trata sobre el proceso de ayudar a los que “quedan atrás” en el estado en el que se encuentra el mundo ahora mismo.
3 ¿Qué opina de que “REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN” esté disponible en todos los formatos?
¡Eso es genial! Está disponible en CD, MC, Vinyl y todo tipo de servicios de streaming.
4 Cuéntanos sobre la portada de "REVOCATION OF THE FALLEN", ¿cómo fue el proceso de creación de esta portada?
Trabajamos con el artista Jorg de Vos para crear la obra de arte del álbum. Está hecho a mano con todo tipo de materiales, sin el uso de Photoshop. La obra de arte fue luego digitalizada en un foto studio profesional.
5 ¿Cuáles son las diferencias entre el primer “PERCEPTIVE DECEPTION” and “STAGNATED EXISTENCE”? ¿Relación con la letra y la música?
El nuevo álbum es una evolución de los álbumes anteriores. Las nuevas letras combinan conceptos de álbumes anteriores con un nuevo sentido de propósito. Hice diferentes enlaces en las nuevas letras a las más antiguas.
6 ¿Cómo fue la distribución de “PERCEPTIVE DECEPTION” and “STAGNATED EXISTENCE”?
Perceptive Deception fue distribuido por Unique Leader records. Realmente nos pusieron en el mapa. Aún estamos muy agradecidos por esto. Tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer una gira con Deeds of Flesh and Disgorge de nuestro héroe.
Stagnated Existence fue lanzado por Neurotic Records. No estamos muy contentos con este lanzamiento, pero nos llevaron a una gira muy agradable con Cannibal Corpse.
7 ¿Quiénes son los principales compositores de DISAVOWED?
Gerben escribió 8 y Daniel 2 de las nuevas canciones. Nils escribe sus propias partes de bajo y yo escribo mis propios patrones vocales.
8 ¿Por qué decidiste trabajar con varios sellos discográficos para este nuevo material DISAVOWED?
Firmamos un muy buen trato con Brutal Mind. En estos tiempos de Covid es muy difícil distribuir desde un punto del mundo, por eso Deni de Brutal Mind distribuyó el disco por varios canales del mundo, como New Standard Elite en USA.
10 ¿Cómo es un concierto de DISAVOWED?
Un concierto de Disavowed es un caos estrecho en vivo, en el que hacemos el mayor contacto posible con la multitud. ¡Me gusta mucho bailar y cantar al mismo tiempo!
11 ¿Cómo observas la escena del Brutal Death Metal en Holanda? ¿Y qué sabes del panorama colombiano y latinoamericano? ¿Y qué opinas del Brutal Death Metal del mundo y de hoy?
La escena deathmetal en los Países Bajos estaba muy muerta hace un par de años, pero con bandas como Severe Torture, Prostitute Disfigurement lanzando nuevos álbumes y nuevas bandas como Spectrum of Delusion, ¡estamos volviendo! ¡No te olvides de mí otra banda, Arsebreed! ¡También lanzamos un nuevo álbum en Brutal Mind, llamado “Butoh”!
Conozco un par de bandas en Colombia y estoy muy en contacto con Sebastián Guarín de Bacteremia y Decarabion. De hecho, mezclé el nuevo álbum de Deccarabion e hice gueatvocals. Sebastián está tratando de ser desautorizado a Colombia. ¡Tenemos que esperar hasta que Covid se resuelva!

Hicimos un par de videos con letras, pero es difícil hacer un videoclip en estos tiempos de Covid, ya que nuestro baterista Septimiu no puede volar a Holanda ahora mismo. Vive en Rumania.
