Here Ricardo Bedoya, from the SCUMZINE MAGAZINE web magazine, how are things going in the band?
Hey Ricardo, Polwach here. Been great although it’s been a bit slow regarding the recording for the 2nd full-length. Won’t be too long hopefully!!!
1 I think it's good to start talking about the new album “RITUALISTIC INTERCOURSE WITHIN ABJECT SURREALISM”, what do you think about the final result of this work?
The final result hasn’t been here yet, as mentioned we are still on the recording process as for now (Feb 2020), guitars at the moment. Satisfied with the rough mixes tho.
2 Tell us about the recording and mixing of the new album “RITUALISTIC INTERCOURSE WITHIN ABJECT SURREALISM”
I recorded my drum part at the studio called MW11 located locally here in Bangkok. It’s a quality studio plus the atmosphere is super good. It went well as I recorded continuously throughout each song, like in 1 part, to capture the rawness. Only 1 song was recorded in 2 parts but fuck that hahaha. I made a lot of mistakes but that was good so it could engage some sloppiness. We are now on the process of recording guitars but it turned out sick at least from what I have heard. Bass and vocals next. Daniel from NSE will mix this shit himself, because we know he understand the sound concept and are sure he will make it very raw. Just as we like.
3 Tell us about the illustration of DAEMORPH ART, what is your opinion about cover art ?, and how was the creation process?
When we talked in the band about who would make the artwork for the album Weerasak came up with him in the mind. We all agreed as we’ve always been fans of his art. I came up with the idea and concept behind the art, taken from the lyrics of the song which has the same name as the album. The result was super satisfying. Came out fucking sick.
4 Tell us about the logo title, made by HARUKA KAMIYAMA
Haruka made the logo for our first full-length and we love it so we had him make another one for the 2nd again. Simply as that. It’s all his design, no brief from us.
5 How long have you been writing and recording the album? And tell us how was the recording and mixing of the new CD “RITUALISTIC INTERCOURSE WITHIN ABJECT SURREALISM?
Been like 6-7 months already. Writing was fast, as we jammed and let the shit flow naturally. We took the parts we liked and recorded demos. Recording is going a bit slowly.
6 How things were with the distribution of the press with the previous album “ABERRANT AMUSEMENT IN CADABERIC VOMITPLAY”
It was good I reckon. I mean I saw some distros holding this album. Great to see that.
7 Tell us about SPLIT with the bands “SCAPHISM” (DELUSIONAL PARASITOSIS / DISSEVERED / BLEEDING), the response of fans and the extreme press
It was an honour sharing a split with our favourite bands. We had already been fans of those bands at the time. The feedback has been great. People seem to like it and many of them say this release is one of the sickest splits ever. Glad they dig it!
8 How is the musical composition in the band ECCHYMOSIS?
It’s a bit strange but generally I come up with my drum parts first, then guitars and everything after.
9 How did the idea of the video “VAGINOTRACHEOTOMICAL CAVITY MOLESTATION” come about?
That live vid? Simple, I just wanna share some new songs but we didn’t have one recorded yet so the live footage was an idea. Grabbed my GoPro and did the work.
10 Tell us about the BROTHERHOOD BRUTALITY 2019 festival, what can you tell us about the band's shows and metal fest?
Great event. Great people. Great beer. As always. I mean we pretty much are satisfied with every of our previous show. Like it’s always cool to meet like-minded friends.
11 How did you get to the ranks of NEW STANDARD ELITE ?, And why with this stamp?
We had been fans of NSE for a long time before we were signed. Recorded that “Intrauterine Feasting Ecstasy” demo/promo and sent to Peter (Dissevered). Peter sent it to Daniel (NSE) and we were then asked for joining. Fucking excited I almost jizzed.
12 What do you know about the scene in Colombia?
Man, we would love to play there one day. One of the sickest countries in terms of brutal death metal. Many bands are super great. Too name a few, Gorepoflesh, Masturbation, Blaze Inside, Carnivore Diprosopus, Goretrade, Purulent, (early) Internal Suffering. Just love the scene there.
13 Tell us about the Bangkok scene? How is it?
It’s great that more foreign bands are coming to play recently. We are still small but it’s cool though. Almost everyone knows each other here.
14 Future plans (some video or tour)
We are looking forward for more overseas tours in the future. Initially planned to tour in the states but didn’t make it this year. Hopefully in the near future. Maybe we have a music video made in support of the upcoming full-length. Let’s see.

1 Creo que es bueno comenzar a hablar sobre el nuevo álbum “RITUALISTIC INTERCOURSE WITHIN ABJECT SURREALISM” ¿qué opinas sobre el resultado final de este trabajo?
El resultado final aún no ha estado aquí, como se mencionó, todavía estamos en proceso de grabación hasta ahora (febrero de 2020), guitarras en este momento. Satisfecho con las mezclas ásperas aunque?.
2 Cuéntanos sobre la grabación y mezcla del nuevo álbum “RITUALISTIC INTERCOURSE WITHIN ABJECT SURREALISM”
Grabé mi parte de batería en el estudio llamado MW11 ubicado localmente aquí en Bangkok. Es un estudio de calidad y el ambiente es súper bueno. Funcionó bien ya que grabé continuamente a lo largo de cada canción, como en 1 parte, para capturar la crudeza. Solo se grabó 1 canción en 2 partes, pero a la mierda eso jajaja. Cometí muchos errores, pero eso fue bueno, por lo que podría involucrar un poco de descuido. Ahora estamos en el proceso de grabar guitarras, pero resultó enfermo al menos por lo que he escuchado. Bajo y voz a continuación. Daniel de NSE mezclará esta mierda él mismo, porque sabemos que entiende el concepto de sonido y estamos seguros de que lo hará muy crudo. Justo como nos gusta.
3 Cuéntanos sobre la ilustración de DAEMORPH ART, ¿cuál es tu opinión sobre la portada?, y ¿cómo fue el proceso de creación?
Cuando hablamos en la banda sobre quién haría la obra de arte para el álbum Weerasak se le ocurrió en la mente. Todos estuvimos de acuerdo, ya que siempre hemos sido fanáticos de su arte. Se me ocurrió la idea y el concepto detrás del arte, tomado de la letra de la canción que tiene el mismo nombre que el álbum. El resultado fue súper satisfactorio. Salió jodidamente enfermo.
4 Cuéntanos sobre el título del logotipo, hecho por HARUKA KAMIYAMA
HARUKA hizo el logotipo para nuestro primer largometraje y nos encanta, así que le pedimos que hiciera otro para el segundo nuevamente. Simplemente como eso. Es todo su diseño, ningún resumen de nuestra parte.
5 ¿Cuánto tiempo llevas escribiendo y grabando el álbum? Y cuéntenos cómo fue la grabación y la mezcla del nuevo CD “INTERCURSO RITUALISTA DENTRO DEL SURREALISMO ABJECTO” <<< Creo que ya preguntaste esto en la pregunta número 2?
Han pasado como 6-7 meses ya. La escritura fue rápida, ya que nos atascamos y dejamos que la mierda fluyera naturalmente. Tomamos las partes que nos gustaron y grabamos demos. La grabación va un poco lenta.
6 Cómo fueron las cosas con la distribución de la prensa con el álbum anterior “ABERRANT AMUSEMENT IN CADABERIC VOMITPLAY”
Fue bueno, creo. Quiero decir que vi algunas distribuciones sosteniendo este álbum. Genial ver eso.
7 Cuéntanos sobre SPLIT con las bandas "SCAPHISM" (PARASITOSIS DELUSIONAL / DISSEVERED / BLEEDING), la respuesta de los fanáticos y la prensa extrema
Fue un honor compartir una separación con nuestras bandas favoritas. Ya habíamos sido fanáticos de esas bandas en ese momento. La respuesta ha sido excelente. A la gente parece gustarle y muchos dicen que este lanzamiento es una de las divisiones más enfermas de la historia. Me alegro de que lo cavan!
8 ¿Cómo es la composición musical en la banda ECCHYMOSIS?
Es un poco extraño, pero en general se me ocurren primero las partes de batería, luego las guitarras y todo lo demás.
9 ¿Cómo surgió la idea del video “VAGINOTRACHEOTOMICAL CAVITY MOLESTATION”?
Ese video en vivo? Simple, solo quiero compartir algunas canciones nuevas, pero todavía no teníamos una grabada, así que el video en vivo fue una idea. Agarré mi GoPro e hice el trabajo.
10 Cuéntanos sobre el festival BROTHERHOOD BRUTALITY 2019, ¿qué puedes contarnos sobre los espectáculos de la banda y el festival de metal?
Gran evento. Buena gente. Buena cerveza Como siempre. Quiero decir que estamos bastante satisfechos con cada uno de nuestros shows anteriores. Como siempre es genial conocer amigos con ideas afines.
11 ¿Cómo llegaste a las filas de NEW STANDARD ELITE?, ¿Y por qué con este sello?
Habíamos sido fanáticos de NSE durante mucho tiempo antes de que fuéramos firmados. Grabé la demostración / promoción de “INTRAUTERINE FEASTING ECSTASY” y la envié a Peter (Dissevered). Peter se lo envió a Daniel (NSE) y luego nos pidieron que nos uniéramos. Jodidamente emocionado, casi me muero.
12 ¿Qué sabes sobre la escena en Colombia?
Hombre, nos encantaría tocar allí algún día. Uno de los países más enfermos en términos de brutal death metal. Muchas bandas son súper geniales. Demasiados nombres, Gorepoflesh, Masturbation, Blaze Inside, Carnivore Diprosopus, Goretrade, Purulent, (early) Internal Suffering. Simplemente amo la escena allí.
13 ¿Cuéntanos sobre la escena de Bangkok? ¿Cómo es?
Es genial que más bandas extranjeras vengan a tocar recientemente. Todavía somos pequeños, pero es genial. Casi todos se conocen aquí.
14 planes futuros (algunos videos o gira)
Esperamos más giras en el extranjero en el futuro. Inicialmente planeó hacer una gira por los Estados Unidos, pero no lo hizo este año. Con suerte en el futuro cercano. Tal vez tenemos un video musical hecho en apoyo del próximo largometraje. Veamos.
