One of the most brutal bands in the United States, with a DEATH METAL, with an extreme musical evolution, manages to compose better songs, now with a record label, such as WILLOWTIP RECORDS, which offers an excellent distribution, bet on the band, hopefully that surprises us with this new work that is in production and that next year will come out, the title was not confirmed, well, a super interview and I hope you enjoy it, thanks to Jeremy Tuner, for trusting us.

Hello Ricardo. Things are going great in the ‘Merc camp! We are working with Willowtip Records now. We have also just started working with a booking agent and band management. We will hopefully

Here, we begin this interview talking about the new work, how is the recording and mixing process going? What is the name of this work? And what can we expect fans?
The recording is almost done. We all have full time jobs and such, so it has actually went rather slow. But all that we have left are solos, mixing and mastering. It has yet to have a title. The new album is darker, more aggressive and faster in pets than we have ever been. We are very pleased with how the album is turning out.
What is the meaning of the title of the new album? And what is the theme of the CD?
The theme of the album is the darker, twisted side of humanity, and some of the different aspects of that.
How much time was spent writing and recording the album?
We started writing songs for the new album a couple of years ago. We went into the studio in June and recorded drums and guitars over the period of a couple of weekends. We all have families, or own a business, so the recording, editing and mixing all is being done during the weekends or in spare time.
How is the design of the cover of the new work ?, Tell us about the illustration? And how was the creation process?
The album cover is reflective of the theme of the album. It is darker and more aggressive. There’s not really much I can say about the artwork yet. We do have it, and the process was extremely easy this time around!
As things went with the UNIQUE LEADER RECORDS label, why did you decide to leave it after two CDS?
We were wanting to work with another label, who we could trust to push our album and give Unmerciful the support needed to get it to the fans better. We felt that another label would be a much better solution for us than staying with the label we were on.
Why did you decide to take out this work with WILLOWTIP RECORDS ?, which in its ranks has bands such as: DEFEATED SANITY, MALIGNANCY, IMPALED, VILE AND DISAVOWED ... What are the expectations ... and for how many jobs?
We are on Willowtip for 2 albums. We have heard nothing but good things about Jason and everyone at Willowtip. So far, work with Willowtip has been very easy and smooth.
Tell us about “RAVENOUS IMPULSE”, how were things for sale? And how was the response of the fans and the extreme press?
“Ravenous Impulse” was the last album we had to fulfill our contract with Unique Leader Records. This put us in limbo, because they weren’t going to spend a lot of $ on press for us since we weren’t signing on to continue to work with them. We felt that the album was pushed anywhere near where it should’ve been.
What are the differences of the first album “UNMERCIFULLY BEATEN” and “RAVENOUS IMPULSE”? Do you relate to the lyrics and music?
There was a 10 year gap between those 2 albums, and a few lineup changes and actually a band hiatus as well. We all grew as people and musicians during that time, and it showed both in the music and lyrics between the 2 albums. With the release of the new album, everyone will see the continued growth of musicianship and songwriting growth we have had.
Tell us about the shows, what bands have you played with? And in what cities?
Our 1st tour was in the US with Cannibal Corpse, Duing Fetus, Necrophagist. We have done tours and played fests with Cryptopsy, Decrepit Birth, and many other bands in the US, Canada, and even in Europe.
Tell us about CHICAGO DOMINATION FEST?
We played the very 1st CDF with Devourment and Gorgasm, when the fest was just one day. We just played CDF6, the venue was different, the fest was much bigger (3 days long), and way more in attendance. It went very well.
Tell us about Topeka, Kansas and your scene?
The Topeka scene has been hit and miss for over 20 years. It’ll have times where it goes well, people come out to shows, and there are decent venues to have shows. Then, there are periods where there are t any good venues to have shows.
There is actually a Topeka metalfest that has been put on for about 8 years now, though. This year, it was 3 days long, and had a pretty stacked lineup of bands.
Tell us about “WEED OUT THE WEAK”, PROMO 2005, Split CORPHAGY - WORMS INSIDE - INFECTED MALIGNANCY? And the demo “ENDURING TORTURE?
The “Weed Out the Weak” demo was actually in 2004, before I was in the band. It was a different lineup, except for Clint and James.
The 2014 promo teaser was something we wanted to put out and let people know we were a band again, and showcase a couple of new songs that would be on “Ravenous Impulse,” and the Cover of Hate Eternal’s “Nailed To Obscurity.”
Why did you choose the theme “NAILED TO OBSCURITY” by HATE ETERNAL?
It’s one of our favorite songs off of a monumental death metal release!
How do you observe the scene of the USA and Europe against death metal?
How is the way of composing in the band?
The USA has seen so many tours, it sometimes seems like people take it for granted. Europe and South America seem to appreciate the bands more sometimes. European metalfest are the best festivals I have had the pleasure of playing. Some of the craziest fans and shows I’ve played have been in South and Central America.
What do you know about the Colombian scene?
I have only heard a little about the Colombia scene, but we would very much love to play in Colombia!
Future plans and final comment?
Our future plans are to continue to produce the most punishing, unforgiving, relentless death metal we can. We plan on touring for bigger bands, in more places, in more countries, and more continents for more people than we ever have before!

Iniciemos esta entrevista hablando sobre el nuevo trabajo, ¿Cómo va el proceso de grabación y mezcla?, ¿Cuál es el nombre de este trabajo? Y ¿Qué podemos esperar los fans?
La grabación está casi terminada. Todos tenemos trabajos a tiempo completo y tal, por lo que en realidad ha ido bastante lento. Pero todo lo que nos queda son solos, mezcla y masterización. Todavía tiene que tener un título. El nuevo álbum es más oscuro, más agresivo y más rápido en mascotas que nunca. Estamos muy contentos con el resultado del álbum.
¿Cuál es el significado del título del nuevo Álbum? Y ¿Cuál es la temática del CD?
El tema del álbum es el lado más oscuro y retorcido de la humanidad, y algunos de los diferentes aspectos de eso.
¿Cuánto tiempo le dedicaron a la escritura y grabación del álbum?
Comenzamos a escribir canciones para el nuevo álbum hace un par de años. Entramos al estudio en junio y grabamos baterías y guitarras durante un par de fines de semana. Todos tenemos familias o somos dueños de un negocio, por lo que la grabación, edición y mezcla se realiza durante los fines de semana o en el tiempo libre.
¿Cómo es el diseño de la portada del nuevo trabajo?, ¿Háblanos de la ilustración? Y ¿Cómo fue el proceso de creación?
La portada del álbum refleja el tema del álbum. Es más oscuro y más agresivo. Todavía no puedo decir mucho sobre la obra de arte. ¡Lo tenemos, y el proceso fue extremadamente fácil esta vez!
Como fueron las cosas con el sello UNIQUE LEADER RECORDS, ¿Por qué decidieron abandonarlo después de dos CDS?
Queríamos trabajar con otro sello, en quien pudiéramos confiar para impulsar nuestro álbum y darle a Unmerciful el apoyo necesario para llevarlo mejor a los fanáticos. Sentimos que otra etiqueta sería una solución mucho mejor para nosotros que permanecer con la etiqueta en la que estábamos.
¿Por qué decidieron sacar este trabajo con WILLOWTIP RECORDS?, que en sus filas tiene bandas tales como: DEFEATED SANITY, MALIGNANCY, IMPALED, VILE Y DISAVOWED… ¿Cuáles son las expectativas… y por cuantos trabajos?
Estamos en Willowtip para 2 álbumes. No hemos escuchado más que cosas buenas sobre Jason y todos en Willowtip. Hasta ahora, trabajar con Willowtip ha sido muy fácil y sencillo.
Cuéntanos sobre “RAVENOUS IMPULSE”, ¿Cómo estuvieron las cosas en venta? Y ¿Cómo fue la respuesta de los fans y la prensa extrema?
"Ravenous Impulse" fue el último álbum que tuvimos que cumplir con nuestro contrato con Unique Leader Records. Esto nos puso en el limbo, porque no iban a gastar una gran cantidad de $ en prensa por nosotros, ya que no estábamos firmando para continuar trabajando con ellos. Sentimos que el álbum fue empujado a cualquier lugar cerca de donde debería haber estado.
¿Cuáles son las diferencias del primer álbum “UNMERCIFULLY BEATEN” y “REVENOUS IMPULSE”?, ¿relacionas con las letras y la música?
Hubo una brecha de 10 años entre esos 2 álbumes, y algunos cambios en la alineación y, en realidad, una pausa en la banda también. Todos crecimos como personas y músicos durante ese tiempo, y se mostró tanto en la música como en las letras entre los 2 álbumes. Con el lanzamiento del nuevo álbum, todos verán el crecimiento continuo de la musicalidad y el crecimiento de la composición que hemos tenido.
Cuéntanos sobre los shows, ¿con qué bandas has tocado? ¿Y en qué ciudades?
Nuestra primera gira fue en los Estados Unidos con CANNIBAL CORPSE, DYING FETUS, NECROPHAGIST. Hemos realizado giras y hemos tocado en festivales con CRYPTOPSY, DECREPIT BIRTH y muchas otras bandas en los EE. UU., Canadá e incluso en Europa.
Cuéntanos sobre CHICAGO DOMINATION FEST?
Jugamos el primer CDF con Devourment y Gorgasm, cuando el festival fue solo un día. Acabamos de jugar CDF6, el lugar era diferente, el festival era mucho más grande (3 días) y mucha más asistencia. Que fue muy bien.
¿Cuéntanos sobre Topeka, Kansas y tu escena?
La escena de Topeka ha sido impredecible durante más de 20 años. Habrá momentos en que todo salga bien, la gente va a espectáculos y hay lugares decentes para tener espectáculos. Luego, hay períodos en los que no hay buenos lugares para tener espectáculos.
Sin embargo, en realidad hay un Topeka metalfest que se ha organizado durante aproximadamente 8 años. Este año, duró 3 días y tenía una alineación de bandas bastante apiladas.
Háblanos de “WEED OUT THE WEAK”, PROMO 2005, el Split CORPHAGY – WORMS INSIDE – INFECTED MALIGNANCY? Y ¿del demo “ENDURING TORTURE”?
La demostración de "Weed Out the Weak" fue en 2004, antes de que yo estuviera en la banda. Era una alineación diferente, a excepción de Clint y James.
El promocional de 2014 fue algo que queríamos publicar y dejar que la gente supiera que éramos una banda nuevamente, y mostrar un par de nuevas canciones que estarían en "Ravenous Impulse", y la portada de "Nailed To Obscurity" de Hate Eternal.
¿Por qué elegiste el tema " NAILED TO OBSCURITY " por HATE ETERNAL?
¡Es una de nuestras canciones favoritas de un lanzamiento monumental de death metal!
¿Cómo observas la escena de Estados Unidos y Europa contra el death metal?
Estados Unidos ha visto tantos recorridos, que a veces parece que la gente lo da por sentado. Europa y Sudamérica parecen apreciar las bandas más a veces. Metalfest europeo son los mejores festivales que he tenido el placer de tocar. Algunos de los fanáticos y espectáculos más locos que he jugado han estado en América del Sur y Central.
¿Qué sabes sobre la escena colombiana?
Solo he escuchado un poco sobre la escena de Colombia, ¡pero nos encantaría tocar en Colombia!
¿Planes futuros y comentario final?
Nuestros planes futuros son continuar produciendo el death metal más castigador, implacable e implacable que podamos. ¡Planeamos hacer giras para bandas más grandes, en más lugares, en más países y más continentes para Que más personas nos escuchen!
