1 Greetings Brutal from Colombia South America, my name is Ricardo Bedoya editor of SCUMZINE MAGAZINE WEB, how is everything going in the band?
Hey Ricardo! Paweł, vocalist of OMINOUS SCRIPTURES, is in touch.
Everything is great in our camp, we are enjoying the period when the new album comes out.
These are special moments and emotions.
2 We start this interview talking about the new CD “RITUALS OF MASS SELF – IGNITION”, how do you describe it? And what are the expectations?
This is Brutal Death Metal from the classic period of the late 90s early 00s. We expect that this album will appeal to both listeners who were present at the time of the style's inception, and neophytes alike. There is no revelation. A pure confession of fans of the genre and admiration for the titans on whose shoulders we stand.
3 “RITUALS OF MASS SELF – IGNITION”, What does the cover art “RITUALS OF MASS SELF – IGNITION” represent? Who is the author of the Cover art? And what is the concept of this?
Cover art by Jon Zig This is his third work for us. And we are completely happy with it.
The concept of the cover is partly outlined in the track "Serpentine Wisdom". Before us is the infernal personification of the Devil, consisting of human souls. Those who have made their choice take their position in the hierarchy of Hell.
4 How was the writing process for OMINOUS SCRIPTURES? How much time did you spend writing and recording the album? What is the theme of the CD? And what about the recording experience?
The album was composed in the period 2020-2021. Recorded and mixed by mid-2022.
I don't remember any specific moments. Everything is like a well-oiled mechanism.
On “Rituals Of Mass Self –Ignition” we touched on various aspects of being. This album reflects both personal views and issues that we wanted to pay attention to. And even some nasty prophecy.
5 Tell us about the 2014 promo & 2015 single, “DEVOURING THE MOANS”, what was the response from extreme metal fans? And how did the extreme press receive them?
I met Promo 2014 as a fan. I wasn't in the band at the time. On it you hear the vocals of Andrey (who later took over as bassist) and Sergey. Oh, I just got crushed! It was my favorite combination of Ultra Brutal and Radical Satanism. I am still playing this CD. "Devouring The Moans" didn't leave me with any particular memories. Just a track from the upcoming album. The same goes for the reaction of the public. In those days, the Ominous Scriptures distributed all the material purely in the environment of the deepest underground. Practically from hand to hand. And no one really paid attention to the opinions of others. We have this kind of music - listen.
6 What can you say about “INCARNATION OF THE UNHEAVENLY”? How was the response from the fans and the extreme press? And how were things with the LETHAL SCISSOR RECORDS label?
“Incarnation Of The Unheavenly” was originally distributed through Permeated Records in 2016. It was not our best experience. In general, I do not remember much attention to the album from the press. Just a few notes. He reached the fans of this style, but no more. Affected by the lack of proper promotion. In 2021, the album received new artwork and new life through Lethal Scissor Records. The guys did a great job and did their job perfectly. We are grateful to them.

7 How is distribution going with WILLOWTIP?
Here everything is excellent! Willowtip are true professionals in their field, with a huge distribution network. They do a lot for the Ominous Scriptures. Both in terms of distribution and in terms of media coverage. We receive a huge amount of feedback from all over the world.
8 Tell us a bit about “THE FALL OF THE CELESTIAL THRONE”? (distribution, fans and extreme press)
This is our second full length album. And the first to be released on Willowtip Records. It was a big step in every way. On "The Fall Of The Celestial Throne" we shaped and polished our basic principles. Powerful concept album. It received wide coverage and serious respect from listeners and the press. We are proud of this album.
9 Tell us about the scene in BELARUS and what you know about the Colombian scene
We have a lot of decent bands, most of which have already made themselves known. We can only express our respect to the Colombian scene. Bands like Carnivore Diprosopus and Internal Suffering are really cool.
10 How is an OMINOUS SCRIPTURES concert? Tell us about the shows, festivals, concerts, with which bands have you played and in which cities?
The moment of completing our line-up came at the paralysis of the planet from Covid 19. Therefore, we did not play as many shows as we would like. We managed to play two concerts in Minsk in the fall of 2021. These were completely different events in terms of atmosphere. Each of which is included in local legends. People still, at a meeting, share memories and emotions. It was legendary. Also in the fall of 2022, Ominous Scriptures finally performed at the Berlin Death Fest.
11 What is your opinion about religions?
Religion is legal tax evasion and monopoly privatization of spirituality.
12 Future plans and final comment?
We will carry the banner of Death Metal to the masses, winning more and more new souls.

Esto es Brutal Death Metal del período clásico de finales de los 90 y principios de los 2000. Esperamos que este álbum atraiga tanto a los oyentes que estuvieron presentes en el momento del inicio del estilo como a los neófitos por igual. No hay revelación. Una pura confesión de aficionados al género y admiración por los titanes sobre cuyos hombros nos paramos.
3 “RITUALS OF MASS SELF – IGNITION”, ¿Qué representa la portada “RITUALS OF MASS SELF – IGNITION”? ¿Quién es el autor de la portada? ¿Y cuál es el concepto de esto?
Arte de portada por Jon Zig Este es su tercer trabajo para nosotros. Y estamos completamente contentos con él.
El concepto de la portada se describe en parte en la pista "SERPENTINE WISDOM". Ante nosotros está la personificación infernal del Diablo, compuesta por almas humanas. Aquellos que han hecho su elección toman su posición en la jerarquía del Infierno.
4 ¿Cómo fue el proceso de escritura de OMINOUS SCRIPTURES? ¿Cuánto tiempo dedicaste a escribir y grabar el álbum? ¿Cuál es el tema del disco? ¿Y qué hay de la experiencia de grabación?
El álbum fue compuesto en el período 2020-2021. Grabado y mezclado a mediados de 2022.
No recuerdo ningún momento específico. Todo es como un mecanismo bien engrasado.
En “RITUALS OF MASS SELF-IGNITION” tocamos varios aspectos del ser. Este álbum refleja puntos de vista personales y temas a los que queríamos prestar atención. E incluso alguna profecía desagradable.
5 Cuéntanos sobre la promoción de 2014 y el sencillo de 2015, "DEVOURING THE MOANS", ¿cuál fue la respuesta de los fanáticos del metal extremo? ¿Y cómo los recibió la prensa extrema?
Conocí la Promo 2014 como fan. Yo no estaba en la banda en ese momento. En él escuchas las voces de Andrey (quien luego asumió como bajista) y Sergey. ¡Oh, me acaban de aplastar! Era mi combinación favorita de Ultra Brutal y Satanismo Radical. Todavía estoy escuchando este CD. "DEVOURING THE MOANS" no me dejó ningún recuerdo en particular. Solo una pista del próximo álbum. Lo mismo ocurre con la reacción del público. En aquellos días, las Escrituras Ominosas distribuían todo el material puramente en el entorno del subsuelo más profundo. Prácticamente de mano en mano. Y nadie realmente prestó atención a las opiniones de los demás. Tenemos este tipo de música, escucha.
6 ¿Qué puedes decir sobre “INCARNATION OF THE UNHEAVENLY”? ¿Cómo fue la respuesta de la afición y la prensa extrema? ¿Y cómo fueron las cosas con el sello LETHAL SCISSOR RECORDS?
“Incarnation Of The Unheavenly” se distribuyó originalmente a través de Permeated Records en 2016. No fue nuestra mejor experiencia. En general, no recuerdo mucha atención al álbum por parte de la prensa. Solo algunas notas. Llegó a los fanáticos de este estilo, pero no más. Afectados por la falta de promoción adecuada. En 2021, el álbum recibió una nueva obra de arte y una nueva vida a través de Lethal Scissor Records. Los muchachos hicieron un gran trabajo e hicieron su trabajo a la perfección. Les estamos agradecidos.
7 ¿Cómo va la distribución con WILLOWTIP?
Aquí todo es excelente! Willowtip son verdaderos profesionales en su campo, con una enorme red de distribución. Hacen mucho por las OMINOUS SCRIPTURES. Tanto en términos de distribución como en términos de cobertura mediática. Recibimos una gran cantidad de comentarios de todo el mundo.
8 ¿Cuéntanos un poco sobre “THE FALL OF THE CELESTIAL THRONE”? (distribución, fans y prensa extrema)
Este es nuestro segundo álbum de larga duración. Y el primero en ser lanzado en Willowtip Records. Fue un gran paso en todos los sentidos. En "THE FALL OF THE CELESTIAL THRONE" dimos forma y pulimos nuestros principios básicos. Potente álbum conceptual. Recibió una amplia cobertura y un gran respeto por parte de los oyentes y la prensa. Estamos orgullosos de este álbum.
9 Cuéntanos sobre la escena en BIELORRUSIA y lo que sabes sobre la escena colombiana
Tenemos muchas bandas decentes, la mayoría de las cuales ya se han dado a conocer. Solo podemos expresar nuestro respeto a la escena colombiana. Bandas como CARNIVORE DIPROSOPUS e INTERNAL SUFFERING son realmente geniales.
10 ¿Cómo es un concierto de OMINOUS SCRIPTURES? Cuéntanos sobre los espectáculos, festivales, conciertos, ¿con qué bandas has tocado y en qué ciudades?
El momento de completar nuestra formación llegó en la parálisis del planeta por el Covid 19. Por lo tanto, no dimos tantos shows como nos gustaría. Logramos tocar dos conciertos en Minsk en el otoño de 2021. Estos fueron eventos completamente diferentes en términos de atmósfera. Cada uno de los cuales está incluido en las leyendas locales. La gente todavía, en una reunión, comparte recuerdos y emociones. Fue legendario. También en el otoño de 2022, OMINOUS SCRIPTURES finalmente se presentó en el BERLIN DEATH FEST.
11 ¿Cuál es su opinión sobre las religiones?

12 ¿Planes futuros y comentario final?
Llevaremos el estandarte del Death Metal a las masas, ganando más y más almas nuevas.
