2 How was the band formed? Where did the name of the band AODON come from? What is its meaning? And why the title for the band?
In 2015 following the split of his blackened death metal band Blodorn, in which he was a drummer, M-kha decided to take up the guitar he had left for a few years. 2016, a first album was released: Sharphood.
Aodon’s name was chosen mainly for its sound, it is not attached to any particular meaning.
3 Let's start talking about the band's new material, what name does it have ?, how many songs? And what can we expect fans and the extreme press?
The new album is called 11069. It will be released in March at Willowtip records. It is a 8 tracks album.
It is always difficult to describe your own stuff, I’m not really good at this... So I invite you to make up your own mind by listening to it when it is available.
4 How was the process of composing the new CD? What is the theme of this work? And how was the recording and mixing process?
M-kha is the composer and main element of Aodon. He recorded all the instruments: drums, rhythm guitar, guitar lead and bass. On the album he also spreads the main voice accompanied by Laurent C. for the choirs. Laurent C. is the live rythmic guitarist. I am the live bass player and the french lyrics author.
Just like Sharphood, 11069 was mixed and mastered at Vamacara Studio (Clisson-France) and this time again, the result ecceeds our expectations.
The art is an original work by Ludovic Robin. We worked closely together to obtain a pictorial expression of the texts and the music. He knew how to capture all of this. The message will be what everyone sees, it would be long and difficult to sum it up with words other than those already used in the texts.
5 Tell us about the illustration, who is in charge of the design? How was the creation process? And what is the message?
The art is an original work by Ludovic Robin. We worked closely together to obtain a pictorial expression of the texts and the music. He knew how to capture all of this. The message will be what everyone sees, it would be long and difficult to sum it up with words other than those already used in the texts.
7 How do they get to the ranks of WILLOWTIP RECORDS? And why work with this record label?
We were leaving to release the album in self-production, HK from Vamacara studio advised us to approach some labels. We followed his advice and sent some excerpts from the new album to about ten Label. Jason from Willowtip records quickly contacted us. It was a real surprise for us! He was immediately enthusiastic, it's a chance to collaborate with him and join such a list of groups! We are the second French group signed by the label (Gorod was the first). Now we can see Aodon written next to giants of Brutal death and Grind metal, it is such an honour. And at the same time our music is quite in a different line so it's even more fun for us!
Tell us about “SHARPHOOD”? How was the acceptance of this work? And what was the response of the fans and the extreme press?
Sharphood is Aodon's debut album. It has been very well received in proportion to the little promotion we did! We are not very present whether on stage, on networks or in the media so Sharphood has led his life and has given us very good feedback and good hopes for the future ...
What is an AODON concert like?
Aodon live is M-kha, Laurent C. and myself. We rarely play in concert and we live in a lost corner of France which means that we don't have a drummer at the moment and have to deal with the recorded drum tape. It suits us perfectly in rehearsal but we would like this new album and the signature at Willowtip to bring us enough visibility to find a drummer.
Plans for an official video of the band, promotion of the new album and a special tour?
The future will tell...
The video is part of one of our projects, the scene too but nothing is defined at this level for the moment.
Tell us how is the scene of France and Europe ?, How do you see the scene of Black Metal worldwide today? And what are the bands that influence the group?
Today we listen to very little black metal but we are happy to see that in France the black scene (in the broad sense) is particularly rich and creative. Groups like Blut Aus Nord, Arkhon Infaustus or Alcest are among those we follow and listen to over the years with always as much pleasure.
Other European groups like Darkspace, MGLA, Ruins of Beverast, Infestus have also had a great impact on us.
We are also fans of brutal death, Severe torture, Azarath, the old Decapitated ... are examples of European groups that we really like.
What do you know about the Colombian scene?
Unfortunately, I know very little about the Colombian scene, Internal suffering is a group that I liked and that I remember. In black metal I think of Inquisition and the album which contains the hypnotic "Desolate funeral chant" but they are half Colombian right ? so it's a half answer ...

La banda está bien, gracias. Estamos contando los días hasta que se lance el álbum...
2 ¿Cómo se formó la banda? ¿De dónde viene el nombre de la banda AODON?, Cuál es su significado Y ¿por qué el título de la banda?
En 2015, tras la separación de su ennegrecida banda de death metal Blodorn, en la que era baterista, M-kha decidió tomar la guitarra que había dejado durante unos años. 2016, se lanzó un primer álbum: Sharphood.
El nombre de Aodon fue elegido principalmente por su sonido, no está asociado a ningún significado en particular.
3 Comencemos hablando del nuevo material de la banda, ¿qué nombre tiene?, ¿cuántas canciones? ¿Y qué podemos esperar de los fanáticos y la prensa extrema?
El nuevo álbum se llama 11069. Se lanzará en marzo en Willowtip records. Es un álbum de 8 pistas.
Siempre es difícil describir tus propias cosas, no soy muy bueno en esto... Así que te invito a que te decidas escuchándolas cuando estén disponibles.
4 ¿Cómo fue el proceso de composición del nuevo CD? ¿Cuál es el tema de este trabajo? ¿Y cómo fue el proceso de grabación y mezcla?
M-kha es el compositor y elemento principal de Aodon. Grabó todos los instrumentos: batería, guitarra rítmica, guitarra principal y bajo. En el álbum también difunde la voz principal acompañada por Laurent C. para los coros. Laurent C. es el guitarrista rítmico en vivo. Soy el bajista en vivo y el autor de letras en francés.
Al igual que Sharphood, 11069 se mezcló y dominó en Vamacara Studio (Clisson-France) y esta vez, el resultado supera nuestras expectativas.
5 Cuéntanos sobre la ilustración, ¿quién está a cargo del diseño? ¿Cómo fue el proceso de creación? Y ¿cuál es el mensaje?
El arte es una obra original de Ludovic Robin. Trabajamos en estrecha colaboración para obtener una expresión pictórica de las letras y la música. Sabía cómo capturar todo esto. El mensaje será lo que todos vean, sería largo y difícil resumirlo con palabras diferentes a las que ya se usan en las letras.
6 ¿Cómo llegan a las filas de WILLOWTIP RECORDS? ¿Y por qué trabajar con este sello discográfico?
Nos íbamos a lanzar el álbum en autoproducción, HK del estudio Vamacara nos aconsejó acercarnos a algunos sellos. Seguimos su consejo y enviamos algunos extractos del nuevo álbum a unas diez etiquetas. Jason de los registros de Willowtip nos contactó rápidamente. Fue una verdadera sorpresa para nosotros! Se entusiasmó de inmediato, ¡es una oportunidad de colaborar con él y unirse a esa lista de grupos! Somos el segundo grupo francés firmado por la etiqueta (Gorod fue el primero). Ahora podemos ver a Aodon escrito junto a gigantes de Brutal death y Grind metal, es un gran honor. Y al mismo tiempo, nuestra música está en una línea diferente, ¡así que es aún más divertido para nosotros!
7 Cuéntanos sobre "SHARPHOOD"? ¿Cómo fue la aceptación de este trabajo? Y ¿cuál fue la respuesta de los fanáticos y la prensa extrema?
Sharphood es el álbum debut de Aodon. ¡Ha sido muy bien recibido en proporción a la poca promoción que hicimos! No estamos muy presentes, ya sea en el escenario, en las redes o en los medios, por lo que Sharphood ha llevado su vida y nos ha dado muy buenos comentarios y buenas esperanzas para el futuro...
8 ¿Cómo es un concierto de AODON?
Aodon live es M-kha, Laurent C. y yo. Raramente tocamos en un concierto y vivimos en un rincón perdido de Francia, lo que significa que no tenemos un baterista en este momento y tenemos que lidiar con la cinta de batería grabada. Nos conviene perfectamente en el ensayo, pero nos gustaría que este nuevo álbum y la firma en Willowtip nos brinden suficiente visibilidad para encontrar un baterista.
9 ¿Planes para un video oficial de la banda, promoción del nuevo álbum y una gira especial?
El futuro dirá...
El video es parte de uno de nuestros proyectos, la escena también, pero por el momento no hay nada definido a este nivel.
10 Cuéntanos cómo es la escena de Francia y Europa, ¿cómo ves la escena del Black Metal en todo el mundo hoy? ¿Y cuáles son las bandas que influyen en el grupo?
Hoy escuchamos muy poco black metal pero estamos felices de ver que en Francia la escena negra (en sentido amplio) es particularmente rica y creativa. Grupos como Blut Aus Nord, Arkhon Infaustus o Alcest se encuentran entre los que seguimos y escuchamos a lo largo de los años con el mismo placer.
Otros grupos europeos como Darkspace, MGLA, Ruins of Beverast, Infestus también han tenido un gran impacto en nosotros.
También somos fanáticos de la muerte brutal, la tortura severa, Azarath, el viejo decapitado... son ejemplos de grupos europeos que realmente nos gustan.
11 ¿Qué sabes sobre la escena colombiana?
Desafortunadamente, sé muy poco sobre la escena colombiana, Internal suffering es un grupo que me gustó y que recuerdo. En black metal pienso en Inquisition y en el álbum que contiene el hipnótico "DESOLATE FUNERAL CHANT", pero son mitad colombianos, ¿verdad? entonces es una media respuesta...
